To ensure appropriate coverage and financial protection during international business travel, Albertsons India associates traveling to the U.S. on official Company business can elect enhanced travel insurance. Coverage includes emergency medical and emergency medical transportation plus a variety of other personal assistance services.

Before commencing travel, you must obtain approval for the enhanced travel insurance by your Location Manager and Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).

Refer to the Employee Handbook for steps to follow for pre-travel approval, post-travel reimbursement and reimbursement processing.


Time Off Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) so you can rest and recharge.
  • Full-time associates earn 18 days per year.
  • You can carry forward up to 45 days of leave entitlement.
  • Full-time associates receive 12 days of paid sick/casual leave per calendar year, with no carryover.
  • Associates are entitled to 12 paid public holidays annually – 10 fixed holidays observed company-wide, plus 2 floating holidays.
  • Floating holidays are selected from an approved list, based on your personal preferences or cultural observances.
  • Expecting mothers are provided 26 weeks (182 calendar days) of maternity leave for all children.
  • Leave for miscarriage or medical termination of pregnancy is 6 weeks.
  • Leave of illness arising out of pregnancy is 1 month.
  • Leave for Tubectomy Procedure is 2 weeks.
  • Paternity leave is 15 days (birth fathers and adoptive fathers).
  • Leave for adoptive and commissioning mothers is 26 weeks.
  • Paid time off from work to care for the medical needs of an immediate family member.
  • 5 days per calendar year.
  • Paid time off from work for the death of an immediate family member (spouse, child, parent, parent-in-law, grand-parent, sibling)
  • 5 days per instance.
  • Compensatory off days are provided.


Retirement Benefits

  • Mandatory scheme to provide for retirement savings.
  • Associate contribution: 12% of basic salary.
  • Company contribution: 12% of basic salary.
  • Voluntary Pension Fund where associates can contribute up to 10% or 14% of their basic salary (depends on the Tax regime).
  • Payment to associates after 4 years and 190 days of continuous service.
  • It is an amount paid to you based on your total service with Albertsons Companies payable on your termination month.
  • Paid as 15 days of basic pay for every year of service based on last drawn salary.
